Born in France, I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States, from age 8 to age 17. Being an expatriate and therefore having been confronted to a multicultural environment from an early age, I quickly became passionate about international affairs and travelling. After my Baccalauréat (the French high school diploma), I enrolled in law school at Université Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. After obtaining a Licence in Public Law and a Master 1 in International Law, as well as a series of certificates in Political Sciences, American Law and European Law, I decided to carry on with an LLM in Public International Law at University of Leicester, in the UK. I specialized during my LLM in Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law and Transitional Justice and International Criminal Law. I have also taken a course in Comparative Law, which I see as a sort of hobby, especially when coupled with issues relating to Freedom of Religion.

I am particularly interested in a) legal responses to mass atrocities and b) international counter-terrorism, both themes that I am considering doing an eventual future PhD on.

Born in England on the little old coastal town of Lowestoft. I am especially interested in rights, liberties and the protection mechanisms of the aforementioned. I have completed a LL.B law degree receiving a first class mark, and I am currently completing a LL.M in Legal Research at the University of Leicester.

I particularly chose this subject to get an insight into the method of law beyond the plain doctrinal or sometimes called the “black letter approach”. Therefore, when I see an article, I try to engage beyond the words alone, and I look in particular for parallels in other jurisdictions and the real affect of that law.

On this blog I will write ad hoc on a number of issues on the general subject of rights violations, and on the rare occasion rights progression. I should also apologize in advance for when I start talking about breaches of the presumption of innocence I can waffle on.

Please feel free to comment on any of my blog entries. I am looking forward to the discussion.

Born and raised in New York City, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience diverse cultures without ever leaving home. Despite this, I still maintain grand dreams of seeing the world (give me a break – I’m young and still an idealist). I’m in my last year of school at Oberlin College, where I’m double majoring in Politics and Law with a concentration in International Studies. I’m currently an intern at the NGO Coalition for the International Criminal Court in New York.
